1st time there and it was awesome, I got the 2nd pick torch I wanted, my 1st ever blasto's and far too many paly's. AND that couple selling the macro in the raffle room we're great people that were worth the trip alone! You can really tell the difference between pro frags and people who are selling crap though. Had no idea!

Some of the hobbyists had some great pieces and great prices as well and still knew their stuff. There was one guy there who kept referring to his Seriatopora as Stylophora though. I thought it was just a slip of the tongue when he was telling me the prices but then later heard him telling another group of people the same thing and then saw it on his price list as well. I did not want to correct him in front of a bunch of people so sent him an e-mail afterward letting him know. No biggie, easy mistake. I have a harder time paying $$$ for the same exact type of coral from a "pro" that I can get from a hobbyist for a reasonable $ just because of a name attached to it. I have never been big on names anyway and don't even get me started on "LE".
My favorite piece that I got yesterday was actually a no-name, dark green Acropora millepora, 3" diameter mini-colony for $15. One man's trash.... Added a couple more Monitpora as well including a "Forest Fire" M. digitata that I have wanted for quite a while, and a "Mystic Sunset" both for $10 ea. Great day!
The Jason Fox coral turns out to be not as bad a purchase as I thought, because my wife likes it. She can see some potential on that coral which I yet to see. Well, the bottom line is that it is an aquaculture 3 inch small colony, because it is fully encrusted and over a frag plug.
Do you guys think there was less people there this year
I saw some very nice looking SPS under blue LED, too bad that vendor's LED was broken and the whites won't stay on...

I bought some corals off of PopCorals, Pacific East, and Greg H. I bought a Fire and Ice echinata, Montipora Undata, Strawberry shortcake, and a couple of other Millepora corals. I was hoping that someone had a Rainbow millepora for sale. I run 2 MH with four T5's and the coloring in the corals are totally different.
It was my first time out and I had a blast! I bought 10 new additions to the tank and only spent short money. I got a whole array of livestock like a gorgonian, sea sponge, zoas, duncans, green birdsnest and some other sps; I even grabbed 3 different types of macro algae for my refugium for only 8 dollars! It was definitely worth the trip and I am already looking forward to going back next to stock up my 80gallon rimless im in the process of building! Next year I will need a bigger cooler

not joking, I was told the white LED is broken.
But I did ask Jason Fox and he did turn up the white. He also had a very cool small frag tank.
Where did people get those glowing sticks?

I missed last year but was there two years ago. Obviously more vendors but the room did seem less packed with people. Perhaps because the vendors were more spread out? They do head counts at the door so the numbers should be available.

Does anyone know who was selling the macroalgae or have contact info? I meant to pick up a few things but never did get around to it.

This was my 2nd year. It was much more crowded at opening than at 1ish. Went for lunch and came back for a 2nd round. I'm contemplating setting up a frag system and being a vendor at next years event. Does anyone know the cost to set up at this event?
