I think he tied a tube sock to the output! Wow and I spent $400 on mine, all I had to do was put my old socks to proper use!

Maybe a Mesh mod to the impeller????? That could actually make that little thing work well.

From the pics it looks like whatever he did it is working great. Better than I have ever seen any other Seaclone!!!

I would just be afraid of overflowing the collection cup...time for another mod...lol

i did the same thing i did on my coralife i put fishin line in to the impeller and it works 100 times better then mesh mod and i put the suck thats all but i dont have to spend 300 to 400 dollars on a skimmer

what do you mean by "put fishing line in the impeller" Do you have a picture of what you did, or can you explain how you did it.

I don't quite think that it will preform like a $300-$400 skimmer will, it is still a Seaclone. But it is a great mod for the Seaclone, thats for sure.

What do you mean it won't overflow. Of course it will. If the collection cup gets full of skimmate, and does not get emptied or cleaned, it will surely overflow. Unless you put a drain into the collection cup (hence the next mod I was referring to.

ye but for a 55 gallon tank it will be a 400 dollar skimmer

right, thats why I said time for another mod. To put a drain into the collection cup. Looking at that pic your cup will fill up daily, if not sooner...lol

Nice job Salt1....and I always thought seaclones were airstone driven? but obviously I'm wrong......and I'd love to see a pic of the impellar with the fishing line?........maybe he means that he tied the mesh down with fishing line, instead of zip ties
