Petco - Shrewsbury

Stopped into Shrewsbury Petco yesterday with MrsX, DaughterX, and SonX to see what they might have for smaller powerheads, digital thermometers, and livestock. As we were looking at the various fish/shrimp/etc. I couldn't but overhear one of the Petco sales people talking to a woman and her two young girls. He was feeding her all sorts of bad info:

- "It's easy to get started and maintain"
- "Oh, you have a tank from freshwater? It's simple to convert over"
- "No, it doesn't cost a lot"
- "Maintenance is simple... like the coral tank there, I haven't changed the water in that in over six months. It just runs itself."
- "You could have fish and corals in a couple weeks"

I couldn't listen to any more so we moved away for a bit.

A little later I saw the woman and talked to her for a few minutes. I know I'm not an expert by any means, but I couldn't let her leave with the impression that this guy left her, and her kids, with. She seemed to be grateful and thanked me for providing some additional input. The kids were pressuring her to buy stuff and after I mentioned some of the work involved they wandered off to look at the mice and birds. The mother looked relieved.

Good man, im not sure why that guy would even consider saying that.. its not like that grunt is going to see any of the profit from her buying saltwater stuff there.

p.s was it a tall young guy maybe 25 some facial hair and glasses, OR a young kid maybe 18-20 sort of short/average height, dark hair short cut with a bad attitude always on his cell phone or trying to get out of work?
