oh and the pics are under 10k MH taken with a phone

I use the whole line up, other then the calcium and alk that is. I run an ULNS with biopellets and had a problem with acros fading and turning pale, I started to use the Red Sea coral colors along with the energy A and B aminos, and everything that was faded colored right back up. Some things are still getting better and better. I don't think every system needs a product like this, but if you run any kind of carbon dosing or have very low nutrients due to low bioload etc, then this is a good product. Zoos and lps or stuff like rics, that like higher nutrients also seem to benefit from them.

yes if your carbon dosing you really need to supplement with something. When I did heavy carbon dosing, my rics and LPS didnt grow much, now a while w/o the dosing they grow like weeds....although I do have algae lol

ya i run a calreactor and biopellets
i just started the coral color. should i get the energy A and B aminos???

If your running biopellets then I say yes. Your water will turn a green/yellow when you dose but it clears up in about 20 minutes. It did freak me out the first time though. The aminos in my opinion are a must when using biopellets or any other type of carbon dosing. Unless your only using a little bit. If you are doing it right and have the proper amount of biopellets then you should dose aminos or have a lot of fish that get fed often. The energy A and B have aminos and some vitamins too, they helped alot of my corals color back up after fading because of low nutrients.

i guess ill have to pick some up.what do you mean by carbon dosing? i run carbon in a reactor but what is dosing it?

"Carbon dosing" would be; bio-pellets, sugar, vinegar, vodka or any other organic carbon source. Carbon dosing drives bacterial growth that takes up nitrate and phosphate and lowers those levels in the water column.

"Activated carbon" is filtraton that removes organics from the water.

oh ok i didnt know thats what it was called.

I too started using Reef Colors A,B,C & D and Reef Energy A & B. I too use another calc, alk, mag brand that being SeaChem power to make two part. I have no need for Red Sea's nitrate and phosphate reduction products as I run bio-pellets in a JNS reactor (awesome unit!) and carbon and phosguard in a BRS reactor.

The Reef Colors A,B,C & D says to add 1ml for SPS for every 20ppm of calcium usage. My tank uses/loses 70ppm of calcium a week so I'm just going to add 3ml of each to my six gallons of water change weekly.

The Reef Energy A & B (which I think is similiar to AquaVitro Fuel) says to add 2ml for SPS accelerated growth or 4ml for SPS enhanced colors (low nutrient) per 100 liters daily. My tank is 60 gallons or 227 liters. I've been adding 4ml of each daily. It does cloud the water yellow for a few hours so I try to add them before I go to bed.

The cost for the full set up Reef Energy, Reef Colors and a Reef Colors test kit was a bit steep at $125. The 500ml bottles of Reef Colors A,B,C & D will last me 166 weeks (over three years) and the 500ml bottles of Reef Energy A & B will last 125 days or four months.

I am leaning on the side of caution and only dosing at 50-75% of recommended dosage and see how it goes. I also use their Pro Coral salt.
