Reeflo Orca 200

Pump came today! It's up and running. Had a small leak at first, on the small skimmer drain (used to empty the skimmer). Yeah, I guess they didn't glue it enough at the factory. I just broke out the q-tip with primer and heavy duty Glue. It's all set now.

So it's only been running for about an hour and the bubbles are looking very nice and small too. I'll keep posting updates!

A word of caution. Run the skimmer all the way open for the first 2 weeks. Once it kicks in it will really start pulling crap out and can easily pull a lot of water out and over flow the cup.

Are you sure I should leave it open??? ha ha. It's just so tempting to try to jump start this thing....

Maybe this is why I always have disasters - NO PATIENCE

If I do a water change today, do you think it will help (you know, get some of the production oils out!)?

yup, I had to repair that drain in place because it came already glued to gether from the factory. I hope it holds up!

The feed line is 1", but I have it dialed way back. I've read that 300-400 gph is the proper flow rate. On RC they seem to think that is even a bit much (increase dwell time). I agree. I'm probably running a little under the 300 gph mark.

You should see the bubble size though.... Incredible!! SO TINY. It's creamy. I think the skimmer is just about ready to kick in.

I also have the Kill-A-Watt hooked up to the Dart. It reads between 95-101 watts pretty steady.

Also, I'm curious to see what happens the first time my Waste Container fills up? I'm hoping it shuts the air down in the skimmer, but I don't know.... the cap is not secured down. It is very heavy though!
