sealing magnets for frag rack?

So a couple of my magnets that had a plastic/rubber case around them have begun to crack and one that fell of has now rusted (i took it out before this). I was wondering how I go about sealing the magnets that go into the tank, as the ones that are on the outside are still coated in rubber that was different than the ones in the tank.

I think I would by a new one, you dont want the contamination in the tank, But if yo u decide to try to save it I would probably use the same silicone used to seal a tank.

i read somewhere you can cover them in epoxy, and theyll be safe.
