The QT tank was set up with water from my 29 during a water change but no biological matter, just in inexpensive carbon insert filter that hangs off the tank. I got a o2 test kit and it read between 6 and 7 ppm. pH is 8.0, no ammonia or nitrites, salinity is 1.020 just like my fish store's. CO2 was2.1 mg/L.
No luck getting him to eat, so I tried a 45 second freshwater dip. I agree with Ng that it's better now then after days of not eating and getting weaker. He's inn the main tank, but in a breeder box so he's not fighting the current. Now that he's in there he's at least swimming horizontal not straight up or down and wobbly. He's still gasping and not eating, but no signs of any white spots/slime/mucus/ etc. Fins and scales look perfect. Any thoughts on moving him to the QT tank and trying copper, formalin, erythromycin, SMZ/TMP or some other treatment? Thanks everyone.
