Tank move help needed, maybe...

Hi, its been a long time since I've been around. I have found myself in an unfortunate situation of needing to move my fish (possibly rehome) and possibly my 90g tank. For those who might remember me, my tank is at my office. A pipe has cracked in my office and it looks like the repair work is going to be extensive, requiring me to move most if not all furniture and belongings. Its unclear how soon the work is going to start or how long I will need to be out for. Knowing how these things tend to go, I am anticipating a few months from the day I move out.

Anyhow, I definitely need to move my fish (7, two of which are small tangs), and suspect I'll need to move the tank as well so the contractors can do the repair work (if the tank doesnt move it will need to be partially emptied, tarped, and sealed). At this point I dont really even know what I need in yerms of help. I'm trying to figure out which fish I can move to my small tanks at home, how quickly (one tank at home is dry and one is fallow), and what to do about the tangs. I think my whitetailed bristletooth will be okay short term by himself in a 42 hex as long as there is a full perimeter so he can swim. He is not a particularly active tang. But I'm less certain whether that tank could also accomodate my chocolate tang, even short term. And neither could live there long term if I am not allowed to set my work tank back up after I move back in (which Ive heard rumblings of).

I guess at this point I am wondering if anyone might be willing to help me move stuff when needed; has a fish trap I could borrow; might be willing to foster my chocolate tang; might have cycled and clean rocks I could borrow for my dry tank?

I also know a BOD member works at my office but don't know how to connect with him for possible help - if a BOD member sees this and knows who I am talking about (I don't want to publicly share where I work) could you please connect me?

Thank you so much to anyone who sees this and can offer some advice or help! (And I apologize for sp and grammer, I'm on my cell phone and can't review the post easily!)

I think I could help if you can't get anyone closer to you I live in Weymouth and it's a pretty far drive but if nobody closer can help u I think I could help you out

If the damage is being repaired by the insurance of the building, have a fish maintenance place come and remove the whole setup and either setup somewhere else or some actually will hold the fish.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way where I work. No insurance. This is all on me including any cost.

That stinks

I know ocean state aquatics does this , I was at a job site and they came in and took the fish to house them temporarily.
Is there anyway you could setup your 90 somewhere else?

Reach out to some local fish stores to see if they can hold some fish during the repair. I am sure someone has space and can help. My tank is over stocked other wise I would help. I do have a dry 40 breeder if you wanted to borrow that. If you have a move date in mind let us know and I may be able to come out to help move everything.

Also have a dry 40b if you want to borrow it.

I'm currently aquascaping for my new tank. I'll have a bunch of extra rock. It's all dry, cleaned, bleached and I'll be putting all of it in saltwater to cure later this week. I'm not sure if it'll be ready in time, but let me know if you're interested.

I will definitely keep this in mind. Sounds like your rock will be ready before anything I have at home (still needs to be bleached and dried). I am going to see if I can move some rock from the 90g but most is epoxied together so not sure how much I'll be able to move. I'll reach out if I dont find something faster!

I live in Weymouth and the tank is in stoughton in storage

I am in Leominster. I also have some sump live rock your could use as well. Not much maybe 5-10 pounds?

why don't you get help and move your tank home for the time being ? if you have room at home
depends how much corals you have you can have this done in one day .with little to none casualties . i done this many times .
take a tank down and set it up the same day .

Thank you everyone for your offers of help. I learned today that I will need to remove it permanently. Unfortunately I do not have space at home for my 90g. Sad day.

Given that I am not allowed to post adoption requests here without paying for a membership, can someone offer advice on the most humane way to euthanize my tank?

Seems the most humane thing to do is pay 20$ for a membership. Surely selling your live stock will more then make up for it.
