Trick to dissolving baked baking soda

I am on my second jug of randy's recipe. I am using the one that bakes the baking soda. Well, after I bake the baking soda in the oven, measure it out, and add it to hot water, the baking soda doesn't full dissolve and remains clumpy. In this way, I cannot accurately measure it out. Is there a trick to fully dissolving the baked baking soda in water. Randy's directions suggest that it will require a lot of stirring, but that hasn't helped either.

Otherwise, I guess I am going to back the recipe that doesn't require baking. Anyone have any suggestions at solving this problem?

First thing I ask myself when someone says they are using washing soda (baked baking soda) is, why? Are you trying to raise your PH? I have found that if everything else is in order, there is hardly ever reason to artificially raise my PH, straight baking soda is usually just fine for my supplementation.

why not just use bulkreefsupply.com for your two part? A little more expensive than making it yourself.. but much higher quality, and much easier to mix up as well...

i would highly recommend using their 2 part method... it's the same thing as randy's, they just package the exact chemicals you need in bulk, and sell it cheap with great directions.

I've used Randy's 2 part for a couple years now with no problems.I also bake the baking soda as I like to have the added benefits of raising the PH some when supplementing.I cut the top off a 2 liter soda bottle and use that as a funnel.I measure out the baking soda before baking it and then pour that in the gallon jug after it cools. Then I add about a 1/3 of the gallon with ro/di water.I shake that bottle for about 10 minutes. Then add the rest of the water and shake some more. There will be some residual stuff that wont dissolve all the way.But as the bottle sits it will eventually disappear.
If it don't,oh well, just don't use the bottom.Still works great to up the Alk level.
I'm also using the original DOW calcium for my other CA part. And Mg flake and epsom salt for the 3rd supplement.

Thanks for the comments.
