What to replace discontinued Phoenix 14K 250W DE MH.

What about Hamilton bulbs?
I have a 14K SE and it looks great.

I do trust Dong, just wasn't sure if any one had tried them. Seems Radiums and Pheonix are the two most recommended.
After that nothing else seemed popular. Even for Dong in the past. He always recommended Pheonix for DE.

As a side note after spending years thinking about Led and never been able to make the change.
Both cost wise and or an LED option I felt comfortable with.
I have been keeping an eye out for a new MH figure with mogul so I could run Radiums.
I have had my fixture for many years. Changed fans but they keep going bad.
If I keep it I think I have to re-wire and add new power for DC fans.

I received the two new bulbs I ordered, in short, they are different.
I withdraw my recommendation for these bulbs from this ebay seller.
I ordered two and one does not light up.
The color is significantly different from Phoenix 14K.

The eBay seller responded fast and professionally.
I decided to give these bulbs a try as from the one that lights up, coral still look nice under it. It is more like a 12K look to it.

look at premium aquatics I am pretty sure they have them for 45-50 each still in stock

Thanks for the heads up. I'm debating if I should get another pair as I already have 2 brand new bulbs and I just changed out the ones I'm using now. I won't need to change until end of 2016. At that point, I might be already looking into LED. Yes, you heard it! I'm looking into LED end of 2016.

Phoenix 14K 250W DE are now back in stock. I guess there's enough demand to keep the manufacturing going.
Long live metal halide!

I don't think they ever got discontinued at all.
Also to follow up with the eBay bulbs, I received a USED one as a replacement (I can see yellowing and burn marks at the sockets) and it did not light up either, LOL

Since trying 20k bulb instead of Pheonix when no one had them in stock. I have joined the LED side and so far I am not looking back. I would stock up on the Pheonix bulbs just in case. Especially if your going back to 3 bulbs on new setup.

My new set up will be using SE. Better MH option.
I'll be running the legendary "Radium". :)
If that won't work out, I can always go back to Pheonix SE.
