Z's reef

As we all know this hobby is not all sunshine and rainbows. Lost a pectinia colony that I recently acquired at the beginning of this week and this morning saw my WD frag covered in brown slime. Unsure if the two are correlated, did a WC just in case. One of those weeks lol.

Other inhabitants seem to be doing well. Got these shots of the blastos and the platy to match the green vibe of the week.

Thanks Paul. I am hoping the fact that it's turning male wouldn't start any fight with the other wrasses. Knocking real hard on wood

I been tracking his transformation, it is wild the color change so quickly over the course of the week

From this originally

Wow I have a leopard female too & I’ve been waiting for the transformation. How long has it been since you first got it? Were there any triggers?

Not really, I kinda just woke up one day and found her started to change. I have her for 1 year now and I got it from a fellow reefer who had her for more than half a year?

It's probably just age, I bet it's around 2, 2.5y mark

Finally getting around to designing a light shade for the 4 Nicrews to contain some of the glare coming off the tank, my partner is very glad lol. Had to make it in two pieces since I am limited by the print bed of the Bambu........We'll see how it goes, 30 deg slope seems to hit just about the edge of my tank at the current mounting height.

Took a few tweaking but they came out pretty good, definitely happy about how much glare is now contained and not spilling over the whole room. More to go lol.

Look at him showing all his colors now that he's fully transformed. Actually quite hard to get a photo of him with good focus, took a video and explored the frame instead.
Gorgeaous fish and great flics
