I just picked up a 12 gallon tall running PC lights and and eclipse PFE hood. I was thinking of trying sea horses in there. I know they need a large amount coco pods and only pipefish or dragonettes should be with them. Could anyone give me some experiences or tips on a tank like this running on a 12 gallon tall.

i think it is going to depend on what kind of horses you want to keep. i would be very hesitant to put a horse in a 12g. H. erectus require a minimum of 25g for a pair. what are you planning?

I am going to do research over the next few days, do you have any suggestions that would help me out? All info is appreciated

Just did the math, the tank is 20 x 10 x 24 so if i did it righ the tank is actually almost 21 gallons

check out this site: http://www.seahorse.org/

they have lots of good info. i would follow their advice and guidance. also, smaller water volume means more fluctuation in water chemistry. seahorses require small frequent feedings, so you need to make sure you watch for extra food and keep up on water changes.
