Appreciate it, working on plumbing in UV and reactors currently.

Have a nice waterproof cover that will go over that receptacle below the first reactor.

Paul you ever consider throwing in reborn as the substrate? A lot of the WWC tanks use it.

Could do what I plan to do, put in a few bags of special grade sand, turn up the flow, let it blow around. Then put reborn in the areas it gets blown out of. Now you have sand bed areas for wrasses and rubble where the flow is too much for sand, lots of biological media and a pretty natural look.

Food for thought

I haven't thought about reborn as a substrate on the tank but used to use them in baskets for mushroom and anemones. Maybe down the road, gonna let the system mature a bit. All my focus is on my other hobby at the moment, fireworks and planning my 4th of July show/annual friend and family party.

No real updates, still trying to get back into things, been dosing Reef Moonshiners again and taking things slow. Been concentrating on my health a lot the past few months. Down 65lbs since the 4th of July. Been waiting on a damn MRI approval for 5 months to hopefully finally get this back issue taken care of.

Still have to do my rockwork too, lol.

Sounds like a good update to me! Always important to take care of your self El Presidente! Fingers crossed the back thing FINALLY gets resolved back issues suck!

Paul!

#1. That is great news on the 65lbs! Talk about taking a load off! Incredible dude.
#2. Sorry to hear about the back issues. A ton of that can be improved with Physical Therapy. Maybe you could get a prescription? I had a herniated disc a year or so ago and was able to resolve it with PT.
#3. We need to get that tank up to full speed! What do you need done? I think you need a visit from the reef squad to wrap up the loose ends and make it a source of relaxation and zen!

Thanks for the well wishes, Ben.

The back issues are going on a 6 years, November 15th. I did
PT multiple times, pool therapy and surgery in the past. Weights been an issue for the latest prognosis, anterior fusion, rods, plates and screws, yay me. Wrapped up workmen's comp last October as I made more money than if I stayed on weekly benefits, still sucks being poor.
Little by slow things are coming around as Ive been getting the sparks after @scavo and my trip out to LIRA's event a few weeks ago.
Sent out an ATI ICP and have made the necessary adjustments, been back on Reef Moonshiners and corals haven't looked better since.
I'm battling an aptasia outbreak and more than likely will grab a bunch of peps at FragsGiving to help mitigate that one.

Been seeing a new ortho doc through private insurance but the idiots had me do PT again in April through July, and never sent the authorization in for the latest MRI, they finally submitted it, but said it was comp so it got denied. Now awaiting for it to be re submited correctly. Tbh, I'm over all of it with the current health network that I've been using for 30+ years now. Hoping to get a referral soon for a different pain specialist.

Moved the equipment cabinet the other day from the original location to under some old cabinets that are filled with fragging supplies, test kits and medications. Had a little setback with the bathroom plumbing letting go inside the wall, that was fun to say the least, final sanding of joint compound tomorrow, primer and paint and then I should be able to pay more attention to the tank.

Been back on Reef Moonshiners for about 5 weeks and things are looking good. Cleaned gfo and gac reactors today. Skimmer, pump, return and pump last week. Debating on disturbing the fuge and pulling the ball of chaetomorpha completely.

I ordered two 3lb. bags of Marco powder and an 8oz. bottle of BSI Thin glue to finally do the rockwork. Hopefully, I'll update again in the near future.

Paul you should try the super glue and aragonite sand method. so easy and fast!

Is there a reason for doing reef-moonshiners instead of 3 part or CARX or Kalk? was your consumption too high for those or is there another advantage?

I am on the fence now about going 3 part or CARX. I like the thought of reef-moonshiners but for me water changes are the most cheap/easy insurance policy so I hesitate to get away from them.

That wall fix is looking good, stoked to see tank progress! You get anything at the swap?

Ben,
I bought some random stuff things from @Todd@ChampionLightingSupply. Won a frag, a 100gpd RODI, some tweezers and grabbers. @Chris A. won some frags such as jf favias, space invader pectina, some across and gave them to my girl for the tank. I run a large Geo Reef 8-18 CaRx filled with reborn and have an Avast k1 kalk stirrer for elevating pH but it's been sitting idle for a few years. Lately I've been averaging 8.1-8.4 pH in the system. I swear by adding the trace elements, whenever I'm running this method, I things just grow and look better than with just water changes. Spoke with someone (sponsor) at the show and they told me that they ran it for 1.5 years and then I bought about just water changes and the coloration has never been the same, so they're back on moonshiners again.

Another sponsor here runs moonshiners method but with Fauna Marin products and loves the results. They came back East for a family visit for 3 weeks and weren't dosing daily trace and everything colored down. Now they have all daily trace elements on dosers so things are looking great again.
