Bulk Reef Supply 2 Part Daily Dosing Question

Probably a stupid question...... but I'm not 100% sure on this.

I have always used an alternative 2 part solutions to maintain my calcium and alk.... per their instructions said to use equal amounts of A+B during dosing. And I'm not sure is this is consistent with BRS 2 part.

Depending on whether using recipe 1, compared to recipe 2 how the daily dosing would compair..... knowing that Recipe 1 requires 2 1/2 cups calcium chloride/1 gal RO...... and Recipe 2 requires 1 1/4 cups calcium chloride/gal RO. How much Alk (soda ash) to use for daily dosing in correlation with Recipe 1 vs. Recipe 2

I understand that using the individual calculators I can bring my levels up to specifications......... but what ratio Ca/Alk to add on a daily basis for dosing.

it's really going to depend on the consumption of the various elements. It varies from system to system.....

Recipe 1 = 2 cups soda ash and 2.5 cups CA
Recipe 2 = 1 cup baking soda and 1.25 cups CA

I believe the reason for the difference is because you can't dissolve 2 cups of baking soda in 1 gal. of ro water. So all things being equal you would need twice as much of recipe 2 solution compared to recipe 1.

Somewhat related question: Is there an economical way to automate the dosing of this 2 part? I have a controller but no peristalic pumps. Any economical alternative to buying two of them?
