Flow rates: Regular vs. Needle Wheel Impeller?

I recently purchase a Ocean Runner 2700 off ebay to use as a return pump. Once I received it, I found out that the OR 2700 is basically the OR 2500 (which I intended to buy) but with a needle wheel impeller.

My question is, do I get less flow with a needle wheel impeller than a regular impeller? And if so, any idea of how much less? Also, is one noisier than the other? Other differences?

My thought is, I can always convert it back to a OR 2500 depending on the pros/cons....
