Green Algae in skimmer

Is green algae inside the skimmer normal? I have been doing a vinagar bath just about every 3 weeks for a few months now. Wouldn't be so bad but it's a hassle to get the skimmer out of the sump..and putting it back is a PITA.. Thanks

I have a little bit of algae in my skimmer body because the fuge light hits it. I don't really bother trying to clean it and I personally don't worry about it...

Yup,that's what it is.Do you have a light over the fug. that could be bleeding over to the skimmer?If so you could try blocking it with some kind of material.

I have that same problem but I just leave it. Think of it as an old school ATS !
