Thats a funny place to lay eggs. I don't think they are called fry until they hatch, but it looks like clown eggs.

thats what i said i thought they would leave them in a crack in a rock not out in the open.eggs /fry sorry not up to speed i started reading more about it last night

When I saw sargent majors with eggs in aruba (they're pretty closely related to clowns and do the same male protect and oxygenate the eggs thing) They usually laid on as flat a surface as possible, but in the open. I think they want to see things comming after the eggs rather than letting critters crawl up and get them. And boy can they bite!
