metal in tank help

My girlfriend had her friend over and her friends son through metal braclet in my sump . Now there is film on the top of the tank and my plate,trumpets and brain all look like they are dying what do i do? i did 25% water change and changed the carbon any idea? oh and the braclet had paint on it dont know what kind though

Large water change would be quickest and most effective solution.

Are you sure just the bracelet in the tank? there may be something else in it too.

i did 25% the same day now its been 3 days and nothing looks good except zoas

Try running a poly filter as well as the water changes.

well she had perfume and nail polish on when she stuck her hand in the tank. i was a sleep my daughter came and woke me up and gave me the braclet

Run a lot of carbon too.

I would have done more like a 75-90% water change & still run that carbon.

If you think about it...with a gross analogy, it would be like me spitting in a drink of yours, if you take 25% out and replace it...my spit is still going to be in there. Do you really want to drink that w/ only 25% new drink?

Are you sure just the bracelet in the tank? there may be something else in it too.

I agree. I'd check your other parameters.

I did a 50% water change the first day and changed the carbon the next day.I plan on doing it 2 or 3 more times.
