I've broken tanks the exact same way before, when adding a baffle like that it's super important to leave a gap between acrylic and glass (expansion joint) as glass and acrylic will expand and contract at different rates.
Thank you for your support. We are lucky to have caught it when we did. I think about 10 gallons made it to the rug in total.
Does any one know where they have a 40 breeder for sale? Alson do you think it is possible to get it drilled today?

I picked up a 40 gal breeder from Petco in wareham (the new one off 195) and they had one more at the time. (about a week ago)
I've got a 46 bowfront we used for freshwater (currently empty) if you want to go that way. Not drilled, save a few $ over a new 40.
I know you said you were tight on space, but I have a 75RR with a stand I won't need for another month if you need something quick to hold you over. I can even supply a sump if needed. I'm in Norton.
