I might need that file for trident box...looks great

Anyone got a file for a filter media cup? Maybe one with the holes only at the bottom to reduce splashing noise?
I made a couple from online which work but the holes are all up the sides and still make noise.
Thanks!

Search thingiverse.com I am pretty sure they have some .stl files already designed...

what size filter cup? Should be pretty easy to design one.
10cm wide and probably 15 cm depth so it exits below water line in the sump. I have seen a few cup designs online but the openings are pretty wide - worried some threads from the floss could get through.
Currently I wound up reshaping a strainer for a sink drain which works ok, however I'm working to try to silence the sump as much as possible. I'm thinking if the cup's openings are only below waterline it should be pretty quiet. I can tinker some more but was curious if someone had done the hard work already :) I'm not the best with the CAD software.

So a 4” standard filter sock size opening with a little lip so it doesn’t fall through.

What type of filament is being used to go in water on our reef tanks ? I'd like to try a few things just unsure on type of filament

PETG and ABS are considered reef safe...

Also TPU, which has varying levels of elasticity from hard as a shopping cart wheel to a rubber band. I've not printed with this personally, however, have read that it may be good for modular hose/ loc line as having a bit of flex is needed to connect and reconnect it. You can use PETG for hose. It can be brittle, and can crack if the tolerance is too tight. Sanding and adjusting scale help. Going 3 months with PETG loc line nozzles attached to metric modular hose on a Pro-Clear tank.

I'm new to printing, and will share this 'pro tip' that may save you lots of time:
If you make some frag plugs with PETG make sure you set the infill density fairly high or fill the empty space with sand - you can pause half way through the print. I learned the fun way after making a bunch of plugs that ended up floating around my tank lol.

Hello Chris just wanted to say thank you again for the prints I ordered from you. They came out great and being used as we speak. Still working on a few things and will advise if and when I need a few more things. Still working on some cable management but inspired as I go. Thumbs up and happy reefing to all.

Try this file out. Let me know if any mods are required. The top rim might be a little tough to print unfortunately since it overhangs.

I tried to add a disc ring shape to the top rim so it's a bit wider and the angle would not need supports printed all the way up. Though in Bambu labs I need to figure out how to merge the shapes. It did print the two shapes but they weren't connected lol I'll get there.
I did have fun finding a basketball size of PLA spaghetti the other day. I needed to clean the print bed.

Recently made this up for my calcium reactor effluent to discharge directly into the skimmer venturi intake. Would probably work well for those who dose lanthanum into their skimmer.
