i have a 40g breeder tank set up in my bedroom on second floor. Today i was cleaning my room and found little spots of mold on my walls. I used vinegar mixed with water and wiped down. My question is that what should i do to prevent humidity in my room so i wont get the problem with mold? should i leave my door open? i always have my door closed. thanks in advance guy.

running a dehumidifer, but yes leaving the door open will help a lot

u could also try covering the tank but that is less desirable from a oxegen exchange perpective

If you have a reef tank in your bed room, you are going to expose yourself to greater risk than mold on the walls. High humidity brings other health issues such as promote bacteria growth. You will have a higher risk of airway allergy and/or infections.
Anyway, do not put a fish tank in the bedroom if you can.

All of the home repair experts have the same answer to humidity issues
Ventilate, Ventilate, Ventilate

Keep any doors to other rooms open
Open a window in the room an 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

This will reduce the humitity but will increase the evaporation and heating issues
The cost of reefing.

point fans where the mold is growing then open a window and don't spay anything to kill the mold you don't want in your tank. a de-humidifier would help aswell. if possible move the tank and make sure the floor is not wet
