External Skimmer for Nano Tank

Hey Guys,

Can any one point me towards an external nano skimmer, as in one that has an inlet line and outlet line, not a hang on back. I searched around for one but could not find much of anything that I was sure was external. If none exist I might be up for having one made if anyone can recommend somebody.

Thanks,

Brian

what size tank? nano can mean 5g or 30g to different people. There are some small recirculating skimmers and beckets that might do what you are thinking.......but why not just have a sump and internal skimmer at that point?
In searching online, the smallest external i can find that looks decent is a reef octo. it is still 10.5" x 8" x 23". that may be bigger than the tank in question! also, all externals i have seen are rated for tanks that are 60g or greater. it probably wouldnt skim a nano anyways.
many people have great results with 10-15% weekly water changes with tanks under 20g.

Hey Jarrod,

It is for a 12 gallon with a 3 gallon fuge. To keep things simple the system is pretty unique and there is not a lot of room in the fuge for a skimmer with the heater, return pump, and love rock. Was looking for something fully external that I could put on the shelf below and plumb with an inlet and an outlet. Probably possible to pull it off with just water changes but I like the idea of having a skimmer.

well, im fresh out of external ideas......but since you already have an external fuge, try this

reviews around the internet are pretty positive for such a small toy.

i know you said it is full, and has tons of rock in it, but i think this would be the most compact option if you did put it in the fuge. with those dimensions you must be able to fit it somewhere in the fuge right? if not, then the fuge is way too full lol.

if you are willing to double the price, these are good and i have seen 1 in person making dark wet skim.
