It's time again to run our moderation poll. We realize that the new vendor experiences forum has generated some controversy, and due to the nature of that forum it requires stronger moderation, but if possible, for the moment, please rate the moderation in all forums OTHER than the vendor experiences forum. We will have a separate poll for that one.

Too many people to please everyone all of the time
Overall I agree with the moderation, there are instances where it may seem off-balance. But you have step back & look at the overall picture

Oh - BTW, I reported this thread to a moderator - may be inflammatory :D ;)

No injuries in the last storm, thankfully. :D
Still limping a little - something wrong with my achilles tendon.

in all actuallity, i think all the moderators do a great job....i'm not sure that there are many things to edit on this site, but they do have to check for that one thing....i'm sure it's a big undertaking for each of them, and i appreciate the time put forth for this site.
keep up the good work.

It's true there's often nothing that needs moderated. Sometimes it seems like we'll go a whole week without doing anything. However, when the poo starts flying it often comes really fast and furious, so we try to stay on top of as many new posts as possible, so we can catch things before they spiral out of control. Seems to go in cycles. We'll all deal with a dozen busy problems (that often drag on into PM exchanges) for a week or two, and then it'll be quite (while Greg goes on vacation), and then it suddenly starts up again.

Definitely a case of hurry up and wait sometimes. :)

Sounds like we know the problem  :p

It would be really nice for me as a moderator if we could have a 12 hour no posting time for anyone we have to moderate for arguing. Not at all to be punative, just to give people a chance to think about it and calm down or sober up or whatever. It would mostly be so moderators don't feel like they have to babysit angry threads.
