Microbubbles From My New Protien Skimmer

Lots of Microbubbles from my new skimmer you would think you where in the ocean and there was a huge hurricane over head....::..my poor fish!!...haha. Doe's any have this same model or doe's anyone have any good idea's to stop these bubbles from making into the tank??

It came with a micobubble sponge to put over the out flow pipe but it's to big and its blue. I don't like the look of it......Thanks joe...

I set up a Remora C hang on protein skimmer and my tank was filled with these bubbes for about 2 days then it stopped. Give it a few days to break itself in. Mine is just finishing breaking in. I had to empty my collection cup 3 or 4 times a day at first. Now I empty it every 4 days about

Oh really! that's good to know. Did the Remora C come with any bubble stopper at all??

no it didnt, its a nice skimmer though. You gotta mess with the height of the collection cups a lot though. And when you first set up the hang on skimmers they are very noisy. The noise will go down a lot also as it breaks in

Use the sponge for a few days. Hang ons usually have a break in period. My aquac remora that i used to have did.

I hope I don't have too many problems with mine also.. I just bought the BH-800SBS. I'm waiting for it to come in the mail now.

Give it a few days to break itself in.

IMO I think most all new HOB skimmers go through this microbubble break-in period

I also got a new Octopus skimmer about 8 weeks ago, they need a few weeks before they are fully broken in. I had alot micro for the first week or so but after that not many at all.

a good filter sock (100+ micron) will collect 99% of those microbubbles. Not the most attractive thing to look at in your display but a lot better than micro bubbles and it should only be for a few weeks.

If you put something like 100+ micron pad, wouldn't that make the skimmer overflow with water?? I would think the pad will had back to much water from the outflow pipe.

it shouldnt, otherwise they wouldnt make the pad.
