Where did you catch them? There is a group down in Jamestown RI that catches tropical fish in some bay. I forget the name but it is by some fort. (forgot that name also):(:(

Yeah i go to Jamestown as well. My mother in law lives on the Island. I catch these from Cape Cod down to South Coast of RI.

cool give us more details, what are they? and what temp you keep your tank at for those?

How do you catch them, and what is your tank kept at?? Any idea what kind of fish they are, very cool.

Alrighty. The first pic is of a bandtail puffer. Second pic is a short big eye. 4th pic is a naked goby...5th pic are spotfin butterfly fish. 6th is a northern puffer. Next 2 are Planehead Filefish. Then an orange filefish... Next is a mangroove snapper...followed by a striped killifish...the northern pipefish and green filefish. I catch alot more than what i posted. I have 8 tanks. The puffers are together and kept at 75. mostly all the fish are kept at 75. I catch them by snorkeling, dipnetting, and dragging a seine. I am always looking for partners if anyone is ever interested. I also do freshwater and travel around the country collecting as well. Right now the tropicals have died off but you can still get some puffers and other cool things. In the summer i didnt even keep a heater on the tank. My pipefish tank still doesnt have a heater. They do not need one since they are native to our waters and can handle the cold temperature.

i caught these yesterday Rhode Island...

Caught in a tidal river in full fresh. they prefer brackish. This is a hogchoker.

One thing I want to get involved in is doing anemones and corals. its i just do not know how to do it or what lights to really get. I do not want to spend a lot of money either so i guess its beat that I don't even bother. I like the idea that everything I have for fish is something that I caught. it makes it more rewarding knowing that i saved a fish that would surely be dead now. so I have a great story about all my fish. My main goal is seahorses. I know a collector in florida that sells them for 32 bucks. which isnt bad but its the shipping. I havent found anyone locally that has them cheap enough for a collector.

There are a few people on here that breed and sell seahorses just look around a bit.

yeah i saw that but they were way overpriced. Esp for the fact that they are catchable right here in RI/MA. I understand that at fish stores they are expensive but in the collector world they are fairly easy...granted ive been looking for a year so i guess not that easy. In Virginia you can catch about 40 in an hour. lol

haha i am down for a road trip!!!! i think we would have to wait till next spring/summer. I know places where you dont need to scuba...snorkel will work. Do you dive wetherill at all? I am always down there. I need to meet some divers that are willing to collect for me and for themselves! lol

Never been there, theres a bunch of divers on here, maybe we will have to organize a spring/summer dive trip through here
