Neal's SPS & ZOA/PALY SYSTEM Coral & Livestock pics thread...

ok, so my system change/transfer is complete :)

first a couple pics of what was my 2 livestock holding tanks for the process... a 40g breeder, and a 20g tall...

and the 65g and the 75g that was my display as they were being broke down...

and the finished product :)

well, minus a few fine tuning and things to finish up like plumbing in my dual carbon reactors and installing the two American DJ powerstrips...

also, i will be getting a look down box for my viewing and photographing pleasure ;)

and please keep in mind, most of all the large 4x4" tiles, that appear to be quite reflective of the light, are all new, so it will take some time for them to color up and that reflection will cease, but when they do, it will look much much better imo...

and my sump... i use (2) Koralia Magnum 6's for internal sump flow, one on each end in opposite corners... and i now utilize a 7" filter sock... the reactors, when plumbed back in, will both be fed with my return pump as well... which is a Mag Drive 9.5...

and my first video ive taken, which was taken with my Droid Incredible, and im sure the setting are all messed up, but you get the idea... the colors, the corals, and the lighting, looks SOOO much better in person...

thanks for looking! i am really happy with how this is all shaping up, and i will be making a few minor modifications as i go...

i will post some more pics in a bit, but i thought i would start with these :)

Looks great Neal!

Sweet, cool video. I didn't realize how many fish were in there. Might need some sunglasses though, at least until the new tiles get some algae on them

u had a nice set up ,u got a even nicer set up

and ontop of that u got a rimless tank as a sump lol ,youre doing great

if u end up selling that 75 lmk how much id drive to ct for it

Looks good ,
Pretty cool , no brownouts with the change over ...?
I hope you bought a lot of filter socks . They clog real quick . I am not allowed to use them anymore since I got busted for washing them in the dishwasher . :(

no brown outs at all... changing over a system like mine, the stress is extremely minimal... the corals were removed and placed into a 40g breeder with good flow, and temp control, then about 5 hours later, were placed back into a display with all the same water from the other system, and immediantly given light, and flow, and everything was back online and up and running fult tilt, very shortly there after :) i had full polyp extension on all sps, and all zoas open 100% within a couple hours... all went very, very well ;)

with a system like mine, its basically "plug and play" lol... which is nice, and i dont worry about too much...

thank you very much my friend, always appreciated...

as for the 3 tanks that were my display, "fuge" and sump, they are all spoken for... the 65g was sold and picked up this morning, and the 75g and the 40g breeder which was my sump, are being given away to a friend for his upgrade in the very near future...

;)

i only had 2 fish in my display up til now... i now have (2) Purple tangs, a sixline wrasse, orchid (fridmani) dottyback, and a yellow tailed blue damsel...

i may add one more small fish at some point... i would reall like a royal gramma, but im not too sure about it yet... and if the smaller purple tang doesnt work out, then maybe a second additional fish maybe added only after the 2nd purple tang is removed... but as for now, they seem to get along ok so far, and are getting along better each day it seems, which is good... I would really love to keep both purple tangs, but close observation and considerations have to be paid in the meantime...

How are the 2 purple tangs getting along?????also u took down the 65 too??

i jus made mention in the post directly above this to the tangs, i guess we were typing at the same time, the same thoughts, lol...

and yes, the entire setup was removed, i now only have the new display and the new sump ;)
