Just noticed them in the rockwork behind the anemone. Male is being protective of them. This is the 1st batch that I know of - about 4 1/2 months after purchase from Marc - Fishy Business
No plans to raise them just yet.

9 days to hatch.......

5 days, so I guess the hatch day should be Monday
Not a big batch, plus they are hidden behind the carpet

Just curious,

can you describe what you saw up to and including the egg laying?

My female perc has been showing her oviposter (however that thing is spelled) for a few days. A couple of weeks ago the clowns began to show a little shimmy dance in their daily behavior, I was wondering if this is related to mating. It seems like they may have been preparing a egg site near one of the RBTAs but it's on the back of a rock and out of sight.

Anything sound framiliar?

jk

I actually didn't really notice anything different
I just happened to see them by the rockwork behind the anemone, & realized the eggs were already on the rock
It seemed like it had just occured & the male was fertilizing the eggs

Tonight should be night #9, I don't think there are many left, but this was their 1st batch

I gues I'm curiuos if it's ever possible for clown fish larvae to live in a tank without special feeding? I would think not

Not if you have other fish in it. I even think the parents may be cannibalistic.
Also, they really need rotifers for food.

Yep, that does sound like they are getting in the mood. I wouldn't be surprised if you spotted eggs near the anamome.

All gone...last nite was it...didn't see any "hatch" - too tired to stay up
Haven't seen any today
But they could have gone right down the drains to the sump/frag

About 2 weeks later.....they may be at it again
