how long sould i let it dry for before connecting it to my system?

Are you talking about the purple/blue stuff? After a couple minutes is should be fine. It bonds very quickly.

Definately pre-cut as much as you can. The glue itself sets pretty quickly. Be mindful if you have two pieces that need to assemble in a certain manner. Set time is like 5 seconds.

yes the purple stuff.I want to connect it to my system but am afraid that it might mess up my water in my existing system

All primer/ cement dries very quickly and when I replumbed my system I let it sit for about 30-45 min before I let water run through it

Drain line, 15 min, pressure line should be 24 hours ideally, but at least 2 hours.
