Scraping side glass

Does anyone only clean their front glass and leave the side panels alone? I am thinking of doing it, just wanted to see if anyone is. Pro's and con's of not cleaning them?

If it's a side of the tank where I can actually look into the tank, I clean it all the time. If it's a side against the wall or the back of the tank, I leave it for the snails and urchin. When it gets really bad, I'll scrape it before doing a water change.

Glass that is clean inside and not painted on the outside will reflect a bit more light back into the tank. Not a giant difference, but some. Search for james fatheree's T5 testing.

I clean all of the glass in my tank, I just like the look of a clean surface around my rock and corals.

I try to keep mine clean but I have been slacking lately.

I leave the sides and back pink and purple. I like the look, but I also have my rocks going front to back on each side, and along the back of the tank, so if you look at it from above it looks like a U shape. So cleaning the sides not only is almost impossible but I can't see much anyways.

I scrape the entire tank every week. It adds depth to the tank. Coralline uses up a decent amount of calcium too. I'm already adding 150ml of both Bionic Alk And Ca every day so I have none to spare. Stuff is getting expensive.

+1. I started to let coralline build up on the sides and back, but my Calc was taking a nosedive.

I scrape 3 sides. The side with the powerhead I leave covered in coralline.
90 gallon tanks with a canopy can be a real pain to scrape clean.

Baking soda and the cal mix from BRS will cut down on your cost.

Scrape as many sides as you can even if you don't view from it. IMO, a tank that has coraline on the glass just isn't appealing.

The way my tank is positioned, you cannot really view through the sides anyway. So, I just let the coraline grow. I actually like the look. Plus it helps to hide the power heads and other equipment that are attached to the sides.
