Been awhile , but I'm back. The acting BOD sent me a draft of a letter via email supposedly sent by US mail, but never received. Funny the acting BOD couldn't even follow through on sending out the letter. No one ever came to me and said this is what the acting BOD met about or said or decided. Apparently the acting BOD got together and did nothing as usual. Who ever was tasked to send the letter dropped the ball. In the email draft I received the reference said that anyone engaged in POSITIVE business/activities not be banned. I would suggest attempting boycotting MACNA and or sending out industry wide unsolicited emails with harnfull erounious information is NOT positive.
In an attempt to get the record straight as I see it on BRS elections/ business/ candatates I will be posting my thoughts in installments the first of which follows.
The trusted acting BOD ...The last regular scheduled meeting with most but not all BOD in attendance was June 1 2003. That's some achievement. Since then There was one MACNA meeting with mostly BOD in attendance 11 months ago , but not a scheduled BOD meeting. Recently two last minute emergency BOD meetings were called by the President. The ByLaws call for regularly scheduled meetings and minutes are to be kept. One must conclude that these members acting or not may have the BRS interest at heart, but did not excersise any of their accepted responsibilities. Furthermore when serious issues were brought to light they did absolutly nothing including not even in discussion. This included an officer squandering nearly $14,000 of available MACNA monies. You got that right $14,000. It also includes leaving BRS without accounting supervision for 5 months when repeatedly asked to do so by members including the former Treasurer. Still today BRS finance is not in qualified hands though the former Treasure attempts to consult from halfway round the world. The Acting BOD tasked and responsible for aquiring neccessary insurances for MACNA failed to do so even when policy applications were provided 8 months prior. A BRS member (not officer or BOD member) secured necessary insurance that was received two days before MACNA. Without such policy in effect the hotel would have pulled the plug two days befor the conference. Lastly in my experience acting BOD members have accepted more than 30 individule tasks and responsibilities in the course of of MACNA business. Of the 30, less than 5 were preformed.
That's enough for now. Happy reefing!
Before anyone replies please carefully read the BRS ByLaws. BRS is a MA corporation and BRS ByLaws are the legal laws that govern that Corporation.
