Z's reef

They're a pain and very stubborn! I have 3 I'd like to get rid of and I need to get them off the rocks.

Does the foot loosen up when cutting? It's the biggest pain to get them off of the rocks.
I've only ever cut them when I haven't been attached to rockwork.

I found that doing it out of water is easier if you can take the rock out, dangle the BTA downward and let gravity does some work for you..it will take some time....

Got tired of macro kept getting suck into my return pump. Made a divider out of laser cut acrylic and 2 little 3DP stand and shoved it in my return chamber. Now I have more space for macro!

I still don't know if I would feel comfortable doing it! Worries me a bit. Corals are no problem.

Gotta make sure your tank is stabilized and have enough trust in it lol. I wasn't feeling comfortable either and nature forced my hand lol, I was glad it went ok

I remember the first time I did it I was scared but they recovered pretty quickly.

Yeah it seems like it. Mine didn't cut right in the middle and both seems to grow a mouth now
No kidding. That’s pretty neat. Maybe one day if I’m feeling brave.

The next time you do that, would you be able to share pics please?
I can try but I don't have any BTAs currently but I want to do a clownfish harem tank in the future so I might be doing this a lot...

But if you search YT you can find some good videos. I've used super sharp scissors before just like this video

Recently noticed one of the lobo is slowly developing a blue inner rim, it started off with fully red, then developed a semi yellow outer rim. Looking forward to see how much potential this guy have.

That’s a beautiful Lobo. I used to use a solid red one but lost it

Thanks! Yeah it came solid red, found it at a LFS up in NH and was told someone traded it. I saw speckles of yellow and blue when I got it so I was hoping it'll develop more color. I am glad I took the bet.

Today I learned that BTA can squeeze through 3/8 inch hole. I found one of the anem on the other side of the barrier.

Also recently acquired a cold water wilsoni from some guy who managed to acclimate it to warm water conditions and aquacultured it for like a decade. The color of these guys are absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the brightest I have seen for wilsoni.

And...a shot I took recently from the side glass into the far corner of my tank that I really liked how it turned out before the lights goes out.
