Acclimating Fish From Online Orders

I'm wondering what people do to acclimate their fish that have been ordered online? I know normally you always want to acclimate fish but I also know that ammonia can build up during shipping.
I'm not sure whether it is more damaging to not acclimate the fish or to acclimate in shipping water.
What do you guys recommend?

I normally drip acclimate them. First float the bag for 10 minutes, open the bag and keep it floating for another 10 minutes and then start the drip acclimation process.
