Well hello! I have decided to make up a DIY LED fixture for my reef aquarium. I bought the components from RapidLed and Radioshack, basically wherever they were cheapest. Tank dimensions are 30" by 18" by 16" deep. Because the tank is so shallow, I used a mix of 40 degree and 80 degree optics now, this might change, I will have to see how everything looks.

Parts from Rapid Led

36 LED totals with a mix of 40 & 80 degree optic lenses
12 x Cree XP-G R5 cool white
4 x Cree XP-E Blue
18 x Cree XP-E Royal Blue
x Cree XT-E Royal Blue
23” x 4.125” drilled/tapped heat sink
X ELN-60-48D (parallel wiring so only need 2 drivers)

Parts from RadioShack
2 x 5-Amp fuse holder
2 x 1 Amp fuse
#20 gauge stranded wire

great job.
Cool, I did the same by parallel wiring to run 24 leds on a single driver as well when I did my light a few months back.
To run parallel strings of XP-E/XT-E makes a lot of sense
