Nice selection of cholla wood thereView attachment 139696Here’s my new 6.8 gallon tank that I plan on planting and putting tetras and shrimp in
I got all 5 for like 12 bucks on amazon not too bad. I got 5 marimo moss balls sitting in a jar waiting as well. When you started it up what did you use to introduce beneficial bacteria into your tank?Nice selection of cholla wood there
No I took an already established filter and put it on that tankI got all 5 for like 12 bucks on amazon not too bad. I got 5 marimo moss balls sitting in a jar waiting as well. When you started it up what did you use to introduce beneficial bacteria into your tank?
Are you also in Derry?I see you are in derry. If you want I can give a baggie of nasty sponge water that will help cycle your tank faster. Its time for me to ring out my sponges. Let me know
Very true it out competes algae if you.plant heavily from the start. Its funny though you can do a tank full of plants for a 100 or get one designer coral for a 100 lol it gets me evertime. Do you have only the one discus or multiple. Also how big is the planted tank with the discusThanks!
Best move I made is getting lots of plants at the start. I think the same might be true of reef tanks, but replace plants with photosynthetic invertebrates. Start with a larger running crop of desirable photosynthetic animals to outcompete the problem algae and diatoms cyano etc etc for nutrients.
Not the more rare plants. Still nothing compared to coral. But I’ve spent $30 on about a dimes worth of moss. Same with bucephelandra.Very true it out competes algae if you.plant heavily from the start. If you want moss on it you could put moss on tie down with a string and have a rock connected so you kill 2 birds with 1 stoneMan that mopani needs to sink lol
