Anyone have this experience with BTA's?

So I had an EXPLOSION of BTA's in my 180 reef. I had maybe 75 rose BTAs from one beatiful speciman I purcahsed to house my mated perculas clowns - funny they hosted in a leather coral and have NEVER touched any of the 75 BTA's! After researching the best way to rid myself of this beautiful pest, I decided I would pull out the LR I could and hang them upside down over a bucket of saltwater and then after they fell of or stretched to the water I would use tweezers to pull them off.

Here is what I determined from this experience... ONLY the rockes that I had purchased 20 years ago from Figi that were flown in to logan airport had BTAs attached to them. All the dead rock I purchased 4+ years ago from BRS to be enviromentally conscious, that almost looks the same b/c it is covered in coralline algae, had no BTAs attached. I find this very interesting... and very interesting to the success of BTAs.

I would never purchase dead rock again...

Other thoughts experiences with Dead Rock versus live rock?
