Euroreef Skimmer setup

Setting up a sump and euroreef recomends the skimmer to be under 6-8 inches of water and i loose about 10 gals of water in the sump if i do that.My ? is would it be ok to put it in higher water level?

make a stand to make the skimmer set a lil higher in the water. is what i would do

Yup, raise the skimmer to the reccomended height. If it's too deep the pump will struggle to pull air.

It's at max height(enough room to take cup off).Guess i got no other way thx for the replys

I take it you have a large sump if you're loosing 10 gallons. Put it in a bucket cut to height you want raise up exactly. Place bucket on stand above sump highest level then feed bucket from tank. Done, constant water level, problem solved.

All good ideas but the skimmer is hitting the bottom of the tank allready , no way out of it ¦]
