Food for thought

I agree with him completely but I feel that it has the potential to backfire on the "conservation through aquaculturing" argument. Why support stores that sell ocean caught livestock when we (theoretically) can breed them on our own. It's a ton cheaper to buy frags off fellow hobbyists who have overgrown colonies + it is one less colony that is harvested from the ocean.

Online suppliers have been become a cheaper alternative to LFS just as buying a new washer has become cheaper alternative to paying a local guy to repair it. Taking the cheap route and being a wasteful society just seems to be accepted method now. I think purging this cheap mentality is going to be just as difficult as getting people to change their "lets just get a new one" mentality.
