Fragging Tools

I was wondering where I can pick up fragging tools at like a store. I am the most impatient person when it comes to ordering online and just like to see something and grab it. Or if anyone local has extra things to sell, I am in the Arlington area.

I guess another question is.....What do I need? haha I have never fragged before. I have some of my beginner corals not that special that I want to practice on and help out other newbs get into corals.

Awesome thanks! If a coral is on a frag plug already, do you just cut through that or use the scapel and peel it off onto something different

glad you started this thread op, gonna have to make a trip to harbor freight or walmart for some bone cutters

as for your question about cutting frags off the plug- i do both. sometimes if the frag is well encrusted or delicate i'll just cut the stem off the plug and glue that onto some rock in the display. if it's not encrusted you can usually just pop it right off the plug. and if it's a softy or zoas or something slimy and you want to remove it, try cutting into the frag plug underneath the frag. depending on what type of plug it is, you can usually cut right through it with an exacto knife or something.

I prefer the exacto knife or razor blade knife to the scapel. I ordered the scapel from F&S and never use it. It's too hard to change the blades, and they rust too quickly for the cost. Harborfreight has everything you need plus stuff that is just fun to buy.

Harbor Freight has retail stores. There's one in worcester as well as a bunch more scattered all over the state.

I didn't even think to go there for fragging supplies!
