Going From 400 Watt MH to 250's

I'm going from 400 watt Iwasaki 6500's to Giesmann 250 watt 14k's.

How should I acclimate?

The new lights should be far dimmer PAR-wise, from the bulbs I currently use.

So, I'm not really worried I will bleach my corals; but I am wondering what the short-term effect will be.

Should I acclimate the same way I would when going to a brighter bulb? Move the lights as high as I can and shorten the cycle time?

Or will it have minimal affect the corals (mostly LPS, a few softies, and a few SPS)?

Any thoughts or words of wisdom?

Thanks,

Gary

I don't think it will affect anything. I've never heard of the need to acclimate when down grading. Its just like thin clouds filling the sky to them.

Steve,

Thanks, that's what I thought too.

And I know that as soon as I get something new, I'm going to want it on as much as possible....

So you told me exactly what I wanted to hear!:)

Thanks,

Gary
