I voted and I think $3 would be better. I do like the shapes they have but I'd also be a little concerned with how porous they are.

I Voted! I would like to see an MSDS sheet also or characteristics of building process. Thanks could really use the GC!!!!

Nice! Love the response! :) Keep it coming guys, it really helps us figure out what to carry and what price-point makes sense to bring it in at.

A couple of you asked for more pics and their weights, so here they are:

I'll do a "porous" test on these .. I'll take dry weight, and then let it soak in water overnight and take wet weight. I'll do the same with the regular ancient reef rock (CaribSea SouthSeas) that we carry and will post the results in the near future.

Thanks!

Sorry guys -- I don't have the MSDS sheets for these. You can find some info from Walt Smith's website though regarding their composition:

http://www.reefproject2.com/ReefRock.htm

They also claim:

"Since our rock is created so porous and lightweight pound for pound you will actually get more rock in your tank, an important consideration when you pay by the pound."

I haven't compared it to our other rock (CaribSea SouthSeas) yet, but will do that soon.

Regarding weight of the archways -- they were all around 4lbs each. Weight for pieces is in the title in the flickr link that I posted.

3 of the rocks have been sold -- I'll update them in the link.

Thanks!
