how much Kalk?

I jusy finished my getto DIY reactor and have 4 containers of pickling lime but I'm not sure how much to add to the reactor it holds about 1.25 gallons of water. thanks

I would say start with a cup or two and monitor the output to see how quickly it gets depleted.

This is just a guess, but it's what I did with my reactor and it worked fine. I think now I add 2 cups or so when I get around to it and that seems to work well.

Oh yea, I forget the details but do a search for armondo's old post about a melted reactor.

there's some good info there but I forget what he was using for kalk mix. somehow his reactor melted when mix was added.

If it's pickling lime you should be fine... it's "quick lime" that generates heat.
