Hydroids

Wondering if I could ask for some opinions as to an issue I am having with a 24-gallon nano tank. It appears that colonial hydroids have moved in, and I have lost a couple of fish (a royal gramma and a yellowtail damsel). Meanwhile, a pair of mated black-and-white clowns are doing great. Question: Are the hydroids the killers, or should I be looking for another cause? The basic water parameters are good.

Colonial hydroids will not kill your fish.
Many tanks have it including mine. The only phase my tank was colonial hydroids free is when I had some angel fish in the tank. Unfortunately, the angels love to nip something else more valuable(my sps). I tried Aptaisia X on it without any luck. They return after a couple days. I've learned to live with them.

+1 to Nick's answer. I've had good luck with putting some super glue covering the hydroids. Never came back after that.
