My first Saltwater/Reef Build!! 90g DT

This is my first reef build. I've been into freshwater systems for awhile and finally took the leap. I went through a bunch of redesigns and almost did a dyi overflow. But after tons of research decided to drill the tank and I'm glad I did. I finally got all my plumbing done and I'm testing the whole system with just regular water. Just got a gate valve and finally got to tune my system perfectly and its absolutely silent besides the return but I have a new return coming in soon. So after 6 months of hard work and scavenging. This is where I'm at. It's not absolutely professional and streamline like I wanted. During the gluing process I ran into a few bumps so that's why the pvc is in weird angles. Be nice on the comments please! Let me know what you think. Any input? Tips? Hints? Suggestions? Lol thanks for taking a look.

Looks good , what kind of corals are you planning to keep ?

Honestly have no idea yet. I am new to the reefing community. All my research prior was focused on getting the tank ready. Now I need to do my research on the fish and corals and everything else that can go into it or not.

Looks great so far. If it were me I would drill another hole between the other two and do a bean overflow. It will make the tank almost silent. I use the bean method and it works great. My other suggestion would be to get rid of the check valve on the return they can get clogged over time and cause problems and not work right. Just drill small 1/8 holes in the returns at the water line that way they will break the siphon.

I didn't notice that good call
also what kind of lite is that ? it looks like a current sunpod , if it is your options are not limited

Thanks for the input! Lol I learned about the bean method after I had already got the equipment for the herbie. And I honestly don't want to tear this all done again to drill. Everything is glued. But the system really is silent. I can only hear the skimmer a little and the return is loud. But I'm getting in a new skimmer Tues and I'll see how it is then. As far as the check valve. I could always remove it later. But since I already bought it. I might as well use it. Lol

The light is a current usa compact flourescent. Not exactly what sure what make, model, or type. Came with the setup. I'm not a pro yet on hardware.

you will be in short time lol. How many bulbs ? Power compacts I don't know a lot about , never even considered them as an option . T5's and Halids are what I use

Has 4 bulks. 2 white, 2 blue, and small white led lights. I'm looking to get a led fixture sometime in the future. But this will do for now.
