Noisy Overflows

I have a 180gal w/overflows at each end. The tank is in my family room and the noise from the water is getting out of hand. I know about Durso and make your own but I happen to be plumbing challenged. Does someone have a plan to follow or hire out to resolve these problems? Any help would be appreciated.

Even you (yes, you) can build a Durso standpipe. Here's a great link that will hold your hand, walk you through it, and whisper sweet encouraging nothings in your ear when you get frustrated. http://www.dursostandpipes.com/

Just click on "build your own standpipes" at the top of the page.

If you actually are not just plumbing challenged, but in fact the spawn of the Anti-Plumber, then you can even whimp out right on the very same website, and order a pre-made durso standpipe.

Enjoy.
