Odyssea MH fixture- can I use a diff. ballast?

I know, I know. I bought it a couple years ago when I didn't know any better.

The ballast caught fire, so I upgraded, got a canopy and did retrofits. I threw out the ballast and kept the light fixture in a closet.

I was thinking about using it for my frag tank. Would it be possible to run it off something like an icecap, as long as the wattage matches? It's a 175W HQI.

I would think that would not be a problem as long as the ballast type is for that style and wattage bulb. Some rewiring may be needed.
