I had luck with a clear plastic specimen container (like they use at the fish store when capturing and bagging a new fish). I got one (actually, I had one lying around), put it in the tank on its side and left it for a few hours. Once the fish were used to it I baited it at the bottom end, waited until the fish I wanted was down in it deep eating and (this was the trick) I slid a long, 4" wide left over piece of flat, clear acrylic plastic I had laying around over the opening. Since it didn't see it coming it didn't react, and I simply tilted the specimen container upright and removed the fish. I guess it?s a lot like a fish-trap, but I was able to do it with stuff I have laying around the house/fish room?
