Old light bulbs aiding red slime algae

Forgetting stuff in my old age , but I can't remember if old light bulbs can cause a red slime algae outbreak.

I've got multiple tanks tied into my sump and only one has red slime algae outbreak. The bulbs are old, don't ask how old, I just know they need changing

Yes, the builb shift in spectrum toward the yellow/red which is really good for growing plants. Or algae.
BUT....if your tank is low nutrient enough, it may not be an issue. This s why some people say they can run the bulbs longer the the usual reccomended 8-10months(MH and T5) for reef tank.
