PM style DIY kalk reactor

Yes, yet another kalk reactor...........

Anyway, this one works pretty well. Design is basically a copy of the PM design, ie uses a maxi jet to stir. I set this up with it's own mini top off resivor (visable in the pic) just in case any kalk back siphoned into the res (I don't want my float valves getting clogged elsewhere). Runs off of a aqua-lifter and a level sensor switch from www.autotopoff.com . Reactor is built from 4.5" tube and a flange kit from www.myreefcreations.com (I got lazy on making the flange from scratch). Connecting the maxi jet was pretty easy, the inlet fits nicely into a 7/8" hole driled into PVC, and the output into a 1/2" hole drilled in a PVC plug, both connections sealed with weldon #16.

jimmy one complaint i have about PM's kalk reactor is no drain valve if you need to service the pump. Might want to take that into consideration next time around.

On that note intersted in building another?
