Howd the mirror trick pan out?

It work out perfect! All tangs are getting along and are eating together... I still want to add 4-5 more tangs ( my goal is to have a school of tangs) so I went ahead and ordered my new skimmer (reef octopus regal 250sss) with 2nd day shipment as well as other goodies that I needed. Mean while today I did my waterchange. Snapped a couple pics of how some of my corals look out of the water as well as some from the top view of my tank.

Thanks... I do have a mesh top. I had a flame hawk fish commit suicide and found him on my carpet the next morning. That same day I made a DYI mesh top on an white aluminum frame to match the stand. Only part I hate about it is that I always have to remove the top at feeding time. I'm planning on adding hinges with 2 small electric pistons.. something like one of the members on here did on there cube.

So wasn't too pleased with the equipment so I did quite some upgrades. I'm so lucky I was still alive after the time FedEx showed up at my door with 6 boxes of reef equipment. It happened to be my fiance that opened the door and signed for the stuff. But hey we did setup a rule in the house with my fiancé where I make her happy and she makes me happy. My happiness at that time was my reef. So I excitedly opened the packages:

Thanks, she is a wonderful woman. She talked about setting up a small tank in our bedroom. She loves the sound of water flowing. So she had her eyes on a fluval edge 12. We are still debating in wether or not setting it up. I talked to her on setting up a head board tank... she said I'm pushing it too much... lol

Good evening guys... I received my new skimmer today and...... wow this is big. Bigger than I thought. The design is so right. I can't wait to install it.

side to side comparison with my previous sro2000Ssss skimmer which is for sale guys. I'm going to install the regal now!

and it's in! Fit perfect! I mean.... PERFECT! Where there is only 2 centimeters of room between the overflow bay and the fuge. This thing is super quiet! I would definitely recommend so far.... keep you guys updated on its performance.

Thanks... not only the looks of it... but it's performance so far. Higher than expected. One thing I love is that it has the VARIOS controller where I can control the speed of the pump skimming. Def worth the investment.
