Splitting cabbage leather coral

Hi,

I had my 16 gallon Nuvo tank for a over a year now and everything has been going great. The one thing I haven't been able to do however is splitting a coral. My cabbage leather coral (salmon color) is starting to take over the tank and smothering the other corals. It's attached to a big piece of rock which I can't take out unless I really disturb the tank. What is the best way for me to frag this coral? I've tried using sharp razor blades, but this thing is really tough to cut and I'm not even sure where do I cut.

Thanks for your time.

I have no advice but wonder if there is any chance that type of coral could release toxins if cut inside the tank and harm other inhabitants?
